    Our commitment

CareVoice is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

CareVoice is care intelligence for UK adult social care, built for professionals who often work in environments where assistive technologies, screen readers, voice control and keyboard-only navigation are everyday tools, not edge cases. That is why we treat accessibility as essential rather than an afterthought.

This accessibility statement applies to carevoice.app and the authenticated CareVoice application. If you are looking for how CareVoice's own voice technology works rather than this accessibility statement, see our guide to ambient voice technology in social care.

    Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard. The non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.

We chose "partially compliant" honestly rather than claiming full conformance we cannot yet verify with a complete external audit. We are working toward full AA compliance and publish updates here as we close gaps.

    Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

    Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations:

    • Some PDF exports generated before April 2025 may not be fully readable by screen readers, as they were produced with a previous PDF generation library that did not embed proper document structure tags. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
    • Some complex data visualisations in the analytics dashboard (charts and trend graphs) have limited alternative text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).

    What we plan to do:

    • New PDF exports use a server-side renderer with proper document structure. We aim to migrate or regenerate older PDFs by Q3 2026.
    • We are adding text-equivalent summaries below each chart in the analytics dashboard. Target completion: Q2 2026.

    How we tested this website

CareVoice assesses the accessibility of the application through a combination of automated and manual testing.

    Testing methods:

    • Automated accessibility audits using axe DevTools and Lighthouse
    • Manual keyboard-only navigation testing on every shipped page
    • Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS, iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
    • Colour contrast verification using the WCAG contrast ratio formula
    • User feedback from care professionals with diverse accessibility needs

The most recent internal accessibility review was conducted in April 2026. We have not yet commissioned a formal external WCAG audit; this is on our roadmap.

    Compatible assistive technologies

CareVoice is designed to work with the following assistive technologies:

    • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
    • NVDA and JAWS on Windows
    • TalkBack on Android
    • Voice Control on iOS and macOS
    • Dragon NaturallySpeaking
    • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
    • Operating system high-contrast modes

    Disproportionate burden

We are not currently claiming that any accessibility issues would be a disproportionate burden to fix. Where we identify barriers, we publish them above and commit to a remediation timeline.

    Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 14 April 2026. It was last reviewed on the same date.

The statement was prepared based on a self-assessment carried out by the CareVoice team using the testing methods listed above. We aim to review this statement at least every 12 months, and whenever we make a significant change to the application.

    Feedback and reporting accessibility problems

We're always looking to improve the accessibility of CareVoice. If you encounter problems or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:

    • Email: info@carevoice.app
    • Subject line: Accessibility feedback

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days. If your report identifies a significant barrier, we will provide a remediation plan with a target date.

    Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the accessibility regulations. If you're not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS):
